I am starting the tear down process on my 1979 L82 and will be converting over to electronic head lamp actuators, Manual conversion on transmission , I believe to wipers are already electric, and be utilizing a electronic cruise conversion. Outside of the brakes. maybe the distributor(depends on engine I go with) and possibly the A/C (going vintage air) is there anything else I need the 50 lbs of vacuum lines for? This will be a resto-mod car and not stock.
On a Corvette, ANYTHING that is removed should be boxed up/labeled/placed on the top shelf in the garage.
I'm not the hoarder type LOL.
Most is damaged from a rodent or crumbling from age. If I end up needing it later will buy more if needed, Hard parts I will hang on to but there will be plenty coming out

Vacuum advance. Any EGR and PCV lines unless you delete all that stuff. Does the 79 have a computer for the carb? Anything that gets removed should be plugged on both ends in the car, just in case

No computer thankfully.
Undecided on engine yet so may not even have a distributor (LS Swap or Large cubic inch Gen 1 small block with efi conversion)
EGR will be gone either way.

If you go EFI it will still need a distributor but will be locked out which is good. If you decide to go with a Holley Sniper, look into EFISytemPro.com. They have alot of information and good customer service.
The only vacuum you'll need is the advance on the distributer and for the transmission. Those obviously go away if you run something like an LS with an electronic trans.

I think this is the route I am going, using a Hyperspark ignition as well. I work for a company that I get employee pricing on Holley products so that saves me a chunk of $$$$

Good luck, sounds like a fun project. Post us pics as you progress! You'll find a lot of sympathy here, lol. We all are either doing it, or have done it to our old girls.
