My wife and I are looking to possibly purchase a '79 C3 for her and I have a question on the fore-aft seat positioning. I've searched other posts but haven't been able to find anything. My wife is about 5'3" and she can barely touch the gas and brake pedals, and the seat lays back way too far. I've found a lot of info on aftermarket seats, but nothing on if it's possible to mount the seats closer to the pedals. Can the seat sliders be modified? We would more than likely put Corbeau seats in the car. Are their sliders the same as stock or do they have more travel? Has anyone else dealt with this? Thanks for any help!

I know the very early C3s had spacers that would be placed into the stop of the seat back so it wouldn't recline so much. you may have to remount the seat on the sliders further forward so that she can reach easily
Yes. You could modify the seat-back adjustment screws/spacers [at rear of seat cushion] to get the seat-back more vertical. And you can install sturdy spacers and new grade 5/8 bolts in the seat mountings to raise the seat, if needed. If there is not adequate 'forward' adjustment on the seat track, you could make some simple adapter plates to "shift" the whole seat and track system forward by some amount. Be advised that with the stock seat position, the inner front edge of the seat cushion hits the trans tunnel in the [normal] most forward position. If you move the assembly forward, you may have to use some force to get that corner of the seat to yield, due to that interferrence.

Thanks for the info! If we get the car I will have to look into making an adapter. I hadn't thought of the seat interference, so thank you for that heads up, too.
