Just purchased an ‘81 C3, when I bought it the driver’s side window was iffy going up. It’s now stuck in the down position. The passenger side went up and down, but I pulled the fuse and replaced it to be safe. Now neither side works. Testing drivers side motor connection, it doesn’t appear to have any juice going to it. Any thoughts? I’m thinking it must be something on the fuse box given the sequence of events, but didn’t know if anyone has encountered this before.
I'm sure someone has. start with a test light. double check that your contacts are good in your fuse panel check for power on both sides of the fuse. pull a seat out and remove one side of the console so you can get at the bottom of the switches. check for power to the switches. if you have power to the switches, depress switch and check for power out of switch. (checking for defective switch) then get back to us.

Tested both sides of the fuse, the left hand side is giving a solid 12V, right side is showing 0V. Does that indicate a bad connection between battery and fuse box?
Haven’t checked the switches yet, since this seems to be at least a contributor to the issue.
Update: verified there is ~2V flowing to the “down” wire. Jumpered the connection from the battery to test the “up” on the motor, I’m hearing the motor engage both up and down, but no window movement. Seems like it’s a motor replacement and switch fix.
First, you should have 12V on both sides of that fuse. if not check for corroded contact's. second. If you hot wired the window motor. and you can hear it run but the window doesn't move. pull that door panel and check it out before ordering anything. could have a stripped gear. which is repairable.
Two follow on questions, since I’m still getting accustomed to the wiring in this car: 1) any recommendations on how to check for a bad connection on the fuse box? I’ve heard it’s a pain to remove/reinstall. 2) checking for a bad ground, is that in reference to the motor case not grounding correctly? If not, what’s a good way to ensure the grounds are functioning correctly?
Thanks for all the help and advice, couldn’t do this without some guidance!
