Default C3 Corvette Build

I have started on my C3 build. Starting this thread because I know I will need a lot of help along the way. Can't think of a better place to get that help than here. I am taking my 76 Stingray and moving the body to a chassis that has been upgraded with Ridetech suspension. Powering it with an LS6 and TR6060.

I'm also going to be documenting the build with videos. I posted Part 1 this morning.

What do you all think about this fuel tank / pump set up? Going to street drive but also autocross/road course. 255l pump should be enough for the LS6.

http://www.brphotrods.com/mm5/mercha...gory_Code=FUEL

and which side pipes:

1. https://www.detroitspeed.com/detroit...-engine-061006

2. https://customimagecorvettes.com/pro...ainless-steel/

I'm leaning towards the Detroit speed exhaust

The 255L will support up to 500hp N.A., so depends on mods to the LS6.

As far as headers, whichever style you prefer between the two.

Started on the floor pans and found they were worse than I had originally thought. Guess I will be buying floor pans. Have a question about the fiberglass door sill. I don’t see a way to remove it so thinking I should cut it in the corner, I am pointing to in the picture, the length of the floor pan. I believe this is covered by carpet anyway. Thoughts?

Removed all the metal brackets from the nose. Going to get them cleaned up and painted.

What is the adhesive that was used to hold it in? It’s green in color.

Making progress. Finished welding in and grinding the birdcage body mount. Working on floor pans now. I'll be glad when the metal work is over!

Just a quick update that I haven't had time to work on the corvette. More to come soon.

I'll be replacing my floorboards the same as you.

Your photos and videos help a lot and provide a better understanding what I'll be facing soon. Thanks for taking the time to post these updates.

Thanks and that is what they are for. I'm glad they are helping. As I get better at making the videos I should be able to give better information. Good luck on the floor pans. Just take your time and try to get them back in the same location. Its just metal. I have had to put a couple extra patches here and there since the video due to thin spots. If I were to do it again. I would make the measurement boards sit right over the seat mounting pads. To me that is what is important to get back in the right locations.

I purchased the TR6060 and LS swap engine mounts from BRP Hotrods (http://www.brphotrods.com/products/6...tte/index.html). To fit a TR6060 into a C3 corvette you have to move the transmission cross member back 2". Also, you need to get the tail of the transmission down to get the driveshaft angle.

This picture shows how the mount lines up before moving the cross member.

This mount lowers the transmission mount down in front of the cross member.

The automatic cars came with a removable cross member. I simply ground out the welds for the upper mounts, moved them back 2", and welded them back in. On the bottom I drilled new holes and swaged in rivnuts. If you do not have a rivnut tool, you need one! This is the one I bought:
Amazon Amazon

First time this body have seen this chassis.

I think it fits well.

Here you can see where the TR6060 interferes with the automatic shifter pocket. No big deal, just cut it out.

I cut out where the TR6060 interferes with the tunnel. It was very little interference. You can see how it fits in the video. I didn't get any pictures. The plan is to build a custom shifter mount and I will make a plate that matches to fill that hole. That will happen after I have seats in the car.

Found the drivers side front mount was a little too thin for my liking. Cut it out and welded in a new piece.
