I sandblasted the 4 headlight cups of my 77, and want to give them a nice coat of paint to protect them (they were very rusty...).
What was the original black color (when new) that was used on these cups (satin, gloss, ...)?
Do I need to use high temp paint or will regular Krylon spray paint do the job?
Blackout paint was semi-FLAT black (now called satin black). Krylon or John Deere "Blitz" black are good matches for factory blackout paint.
I suggest that you shoot the cups with self-etching primer (for bare metal) before you do the black.
