I don't know. I remember hating that movie when I was growing up. I think it was because of what they did to that poor Corvette. Not my cup of tea. Annie Potts was not bad to look at back then though.

Agreed. I got the movie from the library because I had forgotten about how the car looks. IMHO, it was a bad movie.
The Gone in Sixty Seconds movie spawned several Mustangs built that copy the car in that movie. I can't remember ever seeing a copy of the Corvette Summer car.
Annie Potts does look good. My daughter says that now she sometimes plays in the Law and Order series.
Previous post I said it was a bad movie; my daughter is now watching the whole thing. Shows what I know.

How old can I possibly feel reading about someone seeing a movie for the first time that I saw at the drive -in repeatedly OVER 4 DECADES AGO?
PS, Annie Potts was hot and the movie was fun. I especially liked the line, “Its not a car, its a Corvette.”
And yes, OP there have been good and bad replicas floating around. It wasnt the prettiest girl at the dance.
Years ago, my dad's buddy, rich guy bought his wife a Corvette. She complained it wan't a convertible. So he got her a Miata. She shut up after that...
Whatever the significance of this movie is to anyone, the ridiculous modification of the body did nothing to improve it, and IMO ruined the beauty of the original car body style. But.....people like different things, even if it is demented.
