Default Wheels and Tires

Hello all! Having my 77 Corvette done and lookin to put on some Boyd Coddington JunkYard Dog Wheels. My question is what is the biggest tire I can put on front and rear without having to make any major adjustments (spacers are fine). Any help would be great.

I have a 77 Corvette as well. I've had mine well over 30 years. it came with wheels. they work fine and look appropriate for the vintage of the car. Spacers are NOT fine. they will load your lug studs in a very bad way. up front you can run 255-60/15's with no trouble. in the rear, if you can reroute the parking brake cable mount, (welding required). a bit wider. if your looking wider still, off set trailing arms are available.
if these none standard wheels are not 15 inch and your looking at modern tires. I am no help.

I recently put 18 X 9 wheels on my '71 with Michelin 255/45 -18's front and back.
To do this, you'll have to relocate the parking brake cable bracket. Cut off the bracket and and weld it on the top of the trailing arm. Or... not having access to a welder, I made an "L" shaped bracket and fastened it to the trailing arm with two tapped holes. You can't see it in the picture, but I slotted the bracket to receive the cable after mounting.

I put 18x9.5 5.5 BS 6mm offset on the rear of mine and 18x8 4.5 BS 0mm offset on the front. Only mod was parking brake bracket relocation. I have Ridler 695s which look a lot like those BC wheels you are going to use. I'm guessing you can go wider in the front but I don't want wide front wheels anyhow. This is on a 69. Don't know how different it might be from a 77.

255 width tires will work all around on the 1977. I would imagine that 275 width would fit in back with no problem, but you might get some rubbing with full turns up front.
