My first Corvette was a black 1975 I purchased off a used car lot in 1987 that was lipstick on a pig, car turned out to be a rust bucket. Every time it rained I had to run through the quarter wash and vacuum 2-3" water out of the floor boards. Fast forward to now and I have owned a 75, 74, 66, 77, 69, 69, 65, 65, 73. I did a frame off restoration on one of the 69's and both 65's. Grasshopper has learned a lot over the last 34 years playing with these cars.
That 75 was my chick magnet and daily driver for 2 years, the 74 was super clean and that car was always road ready for any distance. One of the 69's was a Tri-Power car that was scary fast and the current 73 I now have in the garage is low mileage and 90% day 1 original. The one I regret not hanging onto was that 74.
Guess what I'm saying is don't beat yourself up over some minor flaws on a purchase just roll with it.
i am in agreement with Mr D. enjoy the car. just look at your door gaps. in fact, take a pic of them. if they don't change, the body is not shifting on the mounts. put it on craigs or FB. if somebody just has to have it, then it is time for vette number 2...
