Default Do I have a tilt column?

I've purchased this 74 454 remotely. I'm 6 for tall and big (270lb). I have a very long torso (30 inch inseam with 6 for body). Tell me I have tilt and tell me I'll fit OK in my banana vette!

Just take off the driver's side T-top and let your head stick out.
(hardly anyone will notice)

Even with tilt/tele it will be a tight fit for your body. You will probably have to modify the seat to lower it and move it back as far as possible. You might also need to tilt the seat-back rearward to obtain adequate headroom. Then you will constantly feel cramped. No big issue, if you don't do any distance driving. So, just how bad do you want to have a C3 be your ride???
Others of similar build have done it, but it's still a challenge.

P.S. I''m not trying to change your mind, but I do want you to make an "informed" decision.

P.P.S. Pull the small lever on the left side of the column toward you and hold it. The steering wheel should pivot up-down. Release the lever when the wheel is in the position you like; then ease the wheel (up-down) to next locking notch. For tele (in-out) movement, move the lever on ring above the horn button to the left to release it. Move the wheel in-out to where you want it; then lock the ring by moving the lever to the right.

Im the same height. I'm also long waisted with a 31" inseam theres plenty of room between the wheel and my body but im only 220. getting in and out required couching pretty good to clear the roofline. Depending on the condition of the seatfoam, You may want to remove the t top headliners but they pop out with velcro type fasteners. I also have a 74.

A good friend was walking by and saw my 76 parked in the driveway. He came over to check it out and told me he had always wanted one. He asked if he could sit in it. "Hell yes, take it around the block." He got as far as sticking his head in. "I just don't think this is going to work." Jack is 6'8" though; don't think Corvettes are for big fellas.

^ just reread the above statement... if 6ft =ok if 6' 4" and 30" inseam you will certainly have to lower the seat somehow.

I'm 6' 2" and 220 lbs. My '72 does not have the tilt wheel but I wish it did. Getting into the car requires sitting down sideways with my legs still out of the car and then rotating my legs under the steering wheel towards the pedals. Not the end of the world but the tilt wheel would provide a little more room between the bottom of the steering wheel and the seat.

You know it's a real sports car when you have to suffer a little bit to drive it.

I don’t think a lot of cars are for guys who are 6’ 8”.

I thought the tilt/tele was great on the 69' until I got the 72' with a 14" wheel on it......I would never own one any other way now......
