Hi Roger. It's nice to see you back. I have missed you.

I have a question that I was hoping someone else would ask but that has not happened. So-
Do you have a copy of your 69 thread? There was a super amount of information in it. I had it saved in my computer but not backed up. My computer crashed and I lost everything. I have searched several times on the forum with no luck. I would love to have a copy.

Thanks, James

HI James, thanks for the nice comments. Unfortunately I had the forum delete the entire post because some of the painting portions were being used against me by a neighbor complaining of strange odors like paint. The forum did recommend to me locking the post but I guess I made the wrong decision and had them delete it. It's gone. I do however have all of the pictures, so if you have a specific need for something you can post it or PM me.

Regards

Hi Lou, sounds like both of you are doing well. Things are very different for me since we met. Keeping busy, now have a 67 and another 71 coming in for paint and body work in my shop.. Ya HOOOOO!
Take care my friend!

Hi Roger,

Thank you very much for the reply. It is a true loss of information by you and Dub. I will really miss it.
If any one has a copy of it I would love to have it if it is ok with you.
I do not know of any picture specifically but thank you for the offer.
I hopefully will start on my 69 this fall. I need to remove the front end for bird cage repair.
Thanks again,

James

So just one of my many stories from the forum: I was fixing things on my newly acquired 69 coupe. wasn't on the forum when I purchased it so....... Anyway the frame needed some repairs so I removed the body and made the repairs. Deep into the restore I saw that the windshield trim needed to be removed. I was shocked at what I saw. Needed to figure out if I should continue or not. Next thing I know is Lou and Linda (Loup68) who I never met and drove 7/8 hrs in their 68 to meet me. and see if they could help.
That's how we met and still keep in touch. Pretty cool!
Some pics from the past .

Looked like a nice car to me.

Nice paint, original motor running and driving.

Frame repairs that I made with new gussetts.

I was stunned that all this crap could be under the trim.

Man!!!!!!

All fixed and moving on again

Started to rain and Lou mentioned that he does take on some water. Was able to get it under roof.

Thank you Roger so much for the reminiscencing and kind words! I sure did appreciate you moving things around in your garage to allow me to park the car in your garage overnight. You drove us to a hotel that night and picked us up the next morning.
Your pictures sure are scary looking!
Say, the picture of the bare interior reminds me of a story. As you know I was in maintenance at the original Parma (Cleveland) Modern Tool and Die company plant (MTD) for 34 years until it closed in 2007 and I moved down here to Myrtle Beach, SC.
One of our automotive parts jobs that they ran a lot of, were these two large ribbed panels. I saw them all of the time but had no idea what they were for. Well, I helped build a new large quality control office and to impress the automakers, they painted some of the parts and had them hanging on the walls. There staring me in the face when I first walked into the room when it was done, were these two panels spot welded together just like they would be in their instillation in a car. Those panels were the C-3 birdcage panels in back of our seats! Your picture shows them without the carpet covering.
You sure do good work, Roger! Lou.

Yea T that was a real mess man. I was thinking what the hell should I do now. After calming down I decided to keep on keeping on. A lot of folks chimed in to help and like everything else it got fixed and another learning experience. On I went!

And you saved another chrome bumper car! Since I have had my 68 coupe for 49 years in July, I have seen an awful lot of cars wrecked, stripped to make race cars, burned up, and stolen for parts. A 68 convertible about three weeks weeks ago three miles from my house burned.
I posted about that. Lou.
