Thanks. Yes it was kept inside for over 20 years. I was able to drive it home, 60 miles away. Using lots of caution and brake fluid! Similar to your 78 PC, this one had the T Tops stolen years before and the owner just got pissed off and parked it at the family owned vineyard.
Black cars are more difficult to live with, but they are the absolute best at showing what a C3 looks like. Here's one you probably haven't seen (another LS swap, of course)
The garage the Pace Car is in currently has three other jet black cars in it, and the other garage has two more, so I guess I have patience for black cars lol
It's a never ending battle keeping them looking good, but it's worth it!
Was driving around today tweaking a few things and data logging, and noticed the rear gears felt much steeper than a typical 78 Vette. Well, turns out I think it's a 68 4:11 rear diff. That'll explain it lol
Things have escalated slightly. I wanted to replace the rear window trim clips, but they were covered and buried in window sealant and rtv. Instead of fighting with them, I removed the rear window to clean everything up. I'll also be tinting the glass while it's out.
I also have the interior pretty much gutted, and have been sound deadening everything.
Hi! What is the thickness size of the sound deadening?
No problem. It does make a difference. Right now I dont have a rug in the car, and it's not super hot inside. It's actually tolerable, which for a C3 is all you can expect lol
Amazing how you've restored this Pace Car. Very interesting to see this transformation. Great job!
Thank You! It's been fun, and challenging at times, but mostly fun.
Still have stuff to do. New seat covers and a rug are next. Tweaking little things here and there, maybe taking it to the track at the end of the year.
That's an amazing transformation of an iconic C3. What a nice job.
Thank you!
Next up is the interior. Right now I'm just driving and enjoying it, but it's getting a new rug, leather seat covers, and a pounding sound system. Already got it wired up for some killer speakers, amps, and a sub. Just gotta button a few things up and they can go in.
