Default 1969 L89 survivor pricing??

guys, I need some help...what would you say a 2 owner, hugger orange t top 4 speed, black interior L89 coupe is worth? was running when parked, all original, 75k miles...corvette rally wheels, side pipes,3 carbs aluminum heads etc....just a bone stocker straight, no rust so cal vette....its complete and would'nt take much to get fired back up again.....trying to find L89 pricing seems alot harder to come up with....I've known about the car for years, spoke with the owner, but now they are older and I want to go strike a deal on it....thanks,cam

If it’s real, has the original drivetrain, has legit GM documentation and those docs show it has side pipes, is mostly original ( no car that has 75k miles is ALL original), has no bad rust issues, I would think between $75-100k depending on what it looks like and if it runs or not.

This is just very wild ball park guess based on what I think I would pay for one. I am no L89 expert. I am currently getting a spot ready to store another car. If I came across a car like you are describing and it fit the description above, I would pay in that range. And when I get my storage space secured, I will be ready to search for an L89.

The current Hagerty price guide shows quite a range for a '69 L89 Coupe.
#1 Perfect $133k.
#2 Excellent $99k.
#3 Average $66,300.
#4 Fair $39,700.
Good Luck...

Before the skeptics drive you away, and before you get to far ahead of yourself, make sure the obvious stuff checks out.

The engine stamp pad should have the correct suffix, LP, LW, or LU, and the transmission to match, and the partial VIN should match the VIN of the car. The interior and exterior colors should match the trim tags. And you'll want to confirm that any existing documentation matches all of that.

I hope this is real. Trust, but verify.

Here are some links to get you started:

Good luck... Could be an awesome purchase for both you and the seller. Curious how it goes. Everyone here obviously loves to see photo's once you get them or purchase!

If you are thinking about the top auction value of the car, it may take a bit of work to get there on your part.

Q1. Does everything work? Defrosters, wipers, windows and lights with alarm lights?

Q2. Check the judging manual for the NCRS and verify every freakin’ thing.

Q3. Join NCRS and get it judged after you correct everything that’s not quite right. That takes time.

Q4. Assuming the car is original paint and interior. It can take months to get the original paint to shine right and to clean and prep the car.

It’s a lot of work. But when you look at what’s at the end of the rainbow, know the work that goes into getting there.

Hmmm.... It's a little old lady. She wouldn't know enough about the car to cheat me. (Anyone ever heard THAT story before??)

Could be real. Probably isn't. YOUR task is to verify the legitimacy of this vehicle regardless of what the seller is telling you. Otherwise, you could become a 'patsy' who has given away 10's of thousands of $$$$.

Check it all out, carefully. There is always hope that you have actually found the "Holy Grail"..........

Hi Camshaw,

I don't know enough to offer you any advice, however, this is very exciting and if you end up purchasing, I would love to see the car!
Good luck!
