Think its totaled?

I would rather wait till I get a in person estimate from my body shop then post a final settlement. I don't want to give a bad impression of Hagerty since this estimate is from emailed picts and is more or less just to start the process and get me a check in the mail. Hope ya'll understand.
I don’t think posting the process as is and experiencing the process is what people want to know. If the estimate is 40000 or 4 dollars by pics only is irrelevant and in no way casts a light good or bad..as the process continues..
hoping you get this resolved to yor satisfaction!!!!
make sure body shop is clear of your expectations….it will matter as they talk to insurance..plus it was not your fault so im sure behind the scenes are negotiatied by insurance companies

Here in California, if the insurance company declares the car as totaled, and you take the insurance company proceeds, keep the car, and have the car repaired anyhow, you are forced to re-register the car and get a salvage title. The process for obtaining the salvage title reuires a functional examination for road worthiness and a smog test. After spending more money on a car that's not worth what you've got in it at this point, failing the smog test presents another obsticle.

Update: Been waiting on the shop to have capacity. Going in either end of this week or next week. I've only been communicating with emailed picts and phone calls. So I'll get a real repair estimate soon.
I know several people are interested in the outcome and I won't leave ya hanging. Soon as I know more I'll post a update.

It goes without saying, but look after your interests first and then ours!
Best of luck with the repairs.

Be a good fixer-upper for someone with the skills/energy to do it. Really doesn't look that bad.

Update: Its been in the shop a year and a half but its finally in paint booth. Doing a total repaint. Soul Red Crystal 46V is the color with a darker ghost stripe from the hood scoop back.
Final insurance payout came in just under 19,000.00 but I added in a few extra things that will be out of my pocket. I'll post some picts when I get her home.
Its been a long journey. I know I could have pushed the shop to hurry but we a lot on our plate the last 2 years and the car took the back seat.
Sorry for the long update delay.

Glad it all worked out & your satisfied. After spending $19k the least the bodyshop could have done for ya when finished was to send it out for a " FULL PROFESSIONAL" detail !!!
I would have expected & accepted nothing less !

I agree. Bad business returning a filthy car. But I was happy to just get it back and I'm still cleaning. Paint job and body work are great but you should expect a clean car when done.
