Default A little feedback please!!

Hello all of my C3 gurus!!!
I could use a little feedback with regards to my 78 coupe...
I have owned it for about 11 years and have changed all fluids from time to time but never thought much about the power steering unit..
My thoughts are to suction out the fluid and top it off with a good PS fluid..
If that sounds like an easy job for me all I need to know is what type/brand of PS fluid should I use??

In advance thanks for all your feedback!

Start with that. Suck old fluid out, install new, and repeat a couple more times.

When I buy a vehicle that has some miles, ..I remove the return line and hook a section of clear hose to it, into a white plastic pail (and plug the nipple on the p/s pump). Then fill the pump and have a helper start the vehicle. Have a qt of new fluid ready to go with a funnel and pour it in as fast as you can till the fluid in the return hose runs 'clear'. Sometimes ya have to shut the vehicle off/refill because it may pump out faster than you can pour it in, depending on your funnel (don't run it dry). Then you know you have exchanged all the fluid.

Of course the suction gun method works too, and it's a lot easier.

Tx Mark G,
Sounds like an easier way to do it....
So you are saying to suck out the old fluid and install new fluid and remove the new and refill at least 3 times??
Can you offer what is the best PS fluid to use?
No probs with cost bc I work for Advance Auto..
Considering the placement of the pump underneath the alternator would it be wise to disconnect it and move it out of the way??
