Default Gauge cluster bulb socket size

On zip corvette there are two different sizes for the bulb sockets that go into the instrument cluster and speedo cluster. They are 1/2” and 5/8”. I have a 1981 Corvette and cant tell which socket size I need to fit my instrument cluster. What size socket do I need?

willcox lists those as 1/2".
The 5/8 is for the one at the very top near the vents, that shines light toward the ac controls.

While u r in there you should replace the printed circuit boards and sockets and replace the bulbs with led. It will be a much brighter and easier to read cluster. I did it on my 79 and it is beautiful!

Replacing both the PCB’s and replacing all lights with LED except for indicator bulbs and high beam.
