Default Undercoating 79 wheel wells

It appears that not only sloppy..but kinda shocked with the actual lack of sound deadening.
according to aim it should be well covered in wheel well and mine appears to be lacking in many areas. I get only the front of back and back of front gets hit but this looks like a severe lazy afterthought..i also love how the floor was to take 1.2 gallons..lol..
i now know why stones sound like a coffee can echo..
does anyone have any visual examples of proper coverage to aim actually applied? It seems the undercoater was pretty lazy hitting the back outside area that aim shows.
i just ordered some rustoleum and will report how close it looks to oem..any other oem duplicate look ideas?
what was first? Color, then undercoat, then blackout paint?

1.2 gallons!

Nothing on back outside of front

Pretty decent coverage expected

Loaded up one spot and missed the rest lol

Rear wheel front..

Front of rear hardly nothing

Before shooting onto the car do some test sprays on a vertical piece of cardboard.
I usually purchase 3M brand undercoating not sure how the Rust-Oluem will spay out?
It's not like paint, it can get globby and thicker in areas if not careful.
Also, if your going to do any overhead spraying, pickup a cheap cotton painters sock that covers your head.
Lowes or HD has them for a few $...
I know the 3M undercoating can be top coated but you will should wait at least 24 hours before doing so.
Good, you found some 3M...

I don't have any pics but it looks like the same undercoater was working in '76.

My front & rear fender wells are bare in the same places...

And my 77. of which I've owned for many, many years and believe to be original in this area. Is Bloody covered in the wheel wells. A bit much if you would ask me. Maybe a new guy was working on the undercoating on the first of Dec. 1976.
Oh, and I would run out and take photos. But my car has been resprayed twice. So over spray is going to confuse the issue.

I was looking at the can you posted and then looked at the part number.
When I last bought it the part number was 08883 so I see they make it in a 16oz can now where it was only available in a 19.75oz can before.
Looks good "T", picking much splatter off your skin...
