I don’t know if it will work for a C3 but I make my own for my midyears. I just cut a wooden 2x4 to fit the ashtray pocket (ashtray insert removed) and screw the cup holder to the wood. It doesn’t cause any damage and can be easily remove and put the ashtray insert back in. Below is a link to pictures s of it.
Try this one, I saw it in a C3 I was looking at. It was placed between the console and the passenger seat putting the cup out of the way. Downside is not usable with a passenger in the seat.
I had one, it's functional, does the job, doesn't look too bad, secure but as everyone says.... LARGE
The two sides have inserts in them that take the cup holder down from something you can put a coffee mug in (like you have at home, ceramic with a handle) down to pop or water bottle size...
I'm working (still a 3d model on the screen) on making the same idea but just smaller to take a pop can or water bottle

How long of a drive do you have that you can’t go without something to drink? No, don’t drink in your car. It’s not that hard.
Not happening. My coffee cup is surgically attached to my hand in the morning. Other issue is the best coffee is right next to the house and zero by work so we drink and drive. There is a reason they sell these things.
I got a piece of plywood and epoxied a couple 3"x4" PVC adapters. I just set it on the floorboard of whatever vehicle I am driving. Maybe I need to make a new one out of a nice piece of wood...
