I've installed electric cutouts in two of my other cars, but try as I could, I could not find a place to install a set in my C3. The car and the exhaust just sit too low, with no room to spare. Between the butterfly motor and the "Y" in the pipe, there's just not enough room. If I didn't have long tube headers, there might be room just south of stock exhaust manifolds. Man, there is nothing like running through the gears, foot to the floor, with open headers, but I just couldn't make it happen. If someone else out there has succeeded, I'd like to see pictures of the installation.
I have 2½" straight pipe- and when I close (variable) the straight pipe the exhaust will flow through the outer muffler. So I have the best of both world at the flick of a switch.

I finally got the QTP Screamer Mufflers installed with a key fob remote. I'm very happy with the sound. It has a nice aggressive tone when cruising without any drone. It's a bit louder with the valves open, but not too loud.
