C3 console thread nuts.
Anyone had a little experience with this? The round holes in the console do not match up with the holes in the gauge flange, they do mach with the square davits, curious.
Also a metal "hoop" that goes under the console part and down onto the sides where the two smaller panels are kind of at your knee

some (myself included) use the long coupling nuts on the two studs to make it slightly easier to get at them rather than the stock ones

That does, look, like a handy bracket. I do not have one in the car. I did a box search and didn't uncover one. I'll think on it, I do remember that bracket, but it is not in the car. However, I did a great job rebuilding the "All" control. This IS an air-conditioned car.

The white is the old connector, the black the new.
This is the connector from under the dash.
This is the one black wire on the end of the old connector.
The color codes are pretty much matched, but there is no corresponding black wire in the new harness from the 76+ harness.
How the 76+ harness fits together with the lock.
1969-1982 C3 Corvette wiring for the turn signals, hazard warning, brake lights, and horn followed the color coding that is charted below. Cornering lights were also included on 1980, 81, & 82 models. All wiring is routed up into the steering column and functions are actuated through the turn signal switch. The steering column wiring and the vehicle body harness wiring come together in a narrow long connector called the “harmonica connector”.
With the connector disconnected none of these wires should be grounded (tied to chassis). In fact I don't think that they should tie to ground regardless of turn signal position, or activation of the hazard switch.
Pretty sure that was a Jim Shea document

The wire colors on the white connected that runs down through the column are this, starting yellow, green, black, lite blue, dark blue, brown, purple, yellow, green and white.
The wire colors on the black connector that comes from under the dash are Black, pink and black, black, double lite blue, double dark blue, brown, purple, yellow, green and white.
As you can see, there are some color matches, but the last wire in the column connector is yellow and there is no corresponding black wire at the end of the connector. I pulled the black connector purposely from the old under dash black connector to change to the new connector when I realized there was a wire missing on the column, the black wire on the end.
I don't know....maybe the button for the ejector seat was originally mounted right next to the horn button in the original configuration. You just never know what those factory floor workers were smoking back in 1973. It appears my under dash connector has two extra wires. Interesting though, I'll keep at it.
