That is just insane...look whats happend to this hobby. Sad thing is one day you wont be able to give these cars away so to speak.
Not that far off
Love that gold color....totally 70s! It would be hard not to bulleproof the cooling system and drive the beans outta that thing.
Nothing funner than rolling around town in something old that stands out among a sea of plastic look alike commuter cars.
Esp looking in the rear view at a light and watching the person in the prius behind you plugging his nose and cursing at you LOL
That thing is wicked! Was drooling all over my phone yesterday.
I never understand the negative reaction that some folks seem to have when something they like starts to increase in value or be desirable to new people. It’s not a shame, there is nothing sad it just is what it is.
it would be impossible to justify driving this thing down the street. in reality it doesn't look any different than any other 69 with side pipes and an L88 hood. but it is priceless. if it is as authentic as it is portrayed.
How many were Riverside Gold? I think it is a pretty rare one of one?
I am happy to see the C3 getting some respect as the days of $10,000.00 rough 68' and 69' convertibles appears to be over. These cars are wonderful. As a full disclosure I have joined the C2 club last year finding and purchasing a beautiful original 1966 roadster, and driving it is truly special as the car looks so good. But the aggressive and space age looks of the 68 convertible I have make all the difference in some ways, and the 427 and L88 hood elevate that car's styling and panache to the next level.
These cars should be very expensive these days due to their rarity, history and documentation. Remember we are seeing 77's sell in the $30,000 range now for perfect cars, and thats a car that for years wasn't worth much. On the similar line and engines front 1970 Chevelles and 1969 Camaros are routinely bringing $80,000.00 regardless of engine.
To me $650,000.00 for an L88 is a pretty good number when a 1969 Z28 is considered. Remember excellent cars can bring an easy $250,000, and the Carolina Blue one was bid to $450,000 in 2014 and did not sell! Current going rate for a standard documented no questions Z is $100,000.00. Corvettes are special too...and deserve a piece of the pie.
For those that want the hooby to return to the "way it was" well it can start with you! All you have to do is post your perfect 68 427/400 Convertible for sale for $8500.00 OBO....and then accept $6,800.00 when thats the offer. :0
