Well, after being careful and cutting the glue on the top and sides of the windshield with the wire tool I ran into trouble. I couldn’t get the glue on the bottom and bottom corners for the life of me with the cheap tools I had. So I read somewhere about a guy duct taping the windshield and breaking it out and decided that was for me 🤣🤣 wasn’t pretty but got the 🤬 out!! Now I can prep birdcage for new windshield 🤣🤣💪🏼
The professional glass installation company I used cleaned all the metal windshield frame and treated it with a rust inhibitor. Oh, they said it was hard to find non Chinese glass for C3’s.
Thanks for the tips! My bro told me the same thing about having a glass company remove it and install new. I told him I wanted to do the work myself for the joy of it. But then for sure I will have the glass professionally installed when the area is ready.
no. put it in yourself. they will just squirt a beat of urethane and drop it 1/4 inch too low. those windshield clips. don't lose them.. replacements are too tall. the screw holes they mount to. don't lose them. pull the clip and replace the screws while painting or they will fill with paint and disappear. your windshield frame looks real good.
