Thought this may be of interest.Very original car, appears motor has never been out of the car,and the pad broach marks and VIN stamp looks 100%.The build date and application appears to have been double whacked at the factory.Curious if this occurred often?(69 350hp)
looks authentic. you can see the engine plant stamp was tilted towards the V so the HW end was barely visible. and you can see rust pits in the bottom of the letter-number stamps that match pits on the pad deck for depth and apparent age. in 69 they did not care what the NCRS, this forum or potential buyers were gonna think of their handiwork in 10 years, let alone 50...

Looks like a valid factory double-stamp. The "ghost" characters seem to match the "real" characters in shape, spacing, and data. The pad's broach marks appear untouched.
Double stamps happened all the time. My '70 LS5 was triple-stamped. Love the engine bay with it's completeness, originality and patina. Car looks to be Riverside Gold? I have a '69 L71 Riverside Gold coupe and love the color. How about a photo of the whole car?
Sharp....like the mags black-walls and vinyl hardtop. Have you thought about NCRS judging? Based on originality and condition, could be an easy Top Flight.
