I’m biased because I own one, but I certainly understand Larry Shinoda’s opinion that the ‘73’s are beautiful C3s.

Finally a picture of the best year C3.
Even the right color and love the slots. I’ve been wanting to see what a black 73 looks like with slots and here we are.

Default Black Vette

Black was not an option (sort of). Simple reason, it was Hard to photograph and thereby not good for Magazine work.
Now that doesn’t mean you can have one, if you wanted black the car would arrive in primer and the dealer would paint it.
So if you have an original Black Vette. The paint code will reveal primer as color. If so you have one, it is a very expensive car.

well that explains why I could never find one. I was looking for a car that almost doesnt exist. So I got a 73 in targa blue instead.

My 73 has a SPEC paint code. I was told the car was sold in primer from the factory. It is now Stellar Blue Metallic. Someone else told me only 12 were sold this way in 73. I have never found documentation to support this claim. Original 454 automatic with AC coupe.

The black car is not mine. It was part of the original thread I was responding to.
