Default Help Finding a Front Spoiler Extension

Hi guys,
I’m in the process of trying to locate a new front spoiler extension for my ‘73 big block coupe.
Everyone I’ve called is out of stock and they don’t have any information about if they will be getting any soon or if they will be permanently discontinued.
The piece I’m searching for is the 73-79 front air deflector extension that bolts onto the stock deflector.
I’m not interested in anything used or any other type of spoiler, even though there are some nice ones on the market.
The GM part number is 14004685 and I attached a Corvette Central and Zip add for the part I’m looking for.
If you have a new one on your shelf collecting dust or have any ideas where I can locate one, please let me know.
Thanks in advance.
Greg

There is zero magic to it. If you already have the standard 73-79 spoiler, I'm sure you could fabricate something similar, or better, using a sheet of ABS or stiff rubber.

@interpon has some helpful photos in this thread, which I'm sure you saw. I'm including the link for posterity.

Thanks guys.
I’ve already thought about making my own.
But these are priced pretty cheap, so if I can find the correct one I’ll purchase it, and store it up on the shelf until the car is back on the road.
Rivets will work.

I have one of those. I guess I was lucky a few years back as it was in stock then.
Just wanted to say. they really work good. Keeps car cool even in tropical Queensland heat.

I made mine from abandoned conveyor belt from a rock crushing plant. It was flawless until i replaced it with an Ecklers fiberglass dam

The worst part of this is, that I added this part to my “parts needed” list about three years ago.
Everyone had them in stock back then so I figured I could pick one up at anytime in the future.
Wrong!

I called Doc Rebuild today.
Super nice and knowledgeable people, I’ll call them again in the future.
They supplied me with some additional information and they told me there was actually an air dam extension specifically designed and sold by GM for the 73-74 big block Corvettes with ac.
Same design and dimensions as the GM:14004685, 73-79 extension, but without the split seam in the center.
They provided me with the GM part number which I Googled.
To my surprise, I found a new, never installed one for sale on EBay, which still had the original GM part number tag attached.
It should arrive next week so I’ve got my fingers crossed.
This may end up being the only original GM part on the car when it’s finished.

Nice find! Much easier than making one.
Be sure to print out a counterfeit tank sticker, now that you are going down the path of an homage car filled with NOS parts.

EDIT: I keep forgetting they gave us this emoji.

Like the new emoji!
My 73 was already filled with its share of NOS parts when I purchased it.
So no big deal.
Do you think anyone would notice if I made up that counterfeit tank sticker in Chinese?

I'd love to be there when someone finds it in 50 years.

Can you provide the thickness of the front air dam extension as I would like to make one myself as none are available any more.

I’ll be able to get that for you, but it will take me a couple of weeks.
If you can wait that long, send me a PM or reply to this thread again in a couple weeks and I can get it then.
If I remember correctly, it’s about an 1/8” to 3/16” thick rubber
