I've actually been designing/making a 3d printed mount over the holidays.
I'm using a bicycle/car mount with wireless charging head and a dedicated phone case both made by Quad Lock, quarter turn and it's removable.

mounted horizontal with music player / maps

mounted vertical

Quad Lock wireless charge head

still a work in progress, excuse the large **** on the back, it's off a 3d printer, only thing i had laying around for now

it's all held in place firmly by the ashtray door when it's closed.
ashtray opening is still accessible for storing small nick nacks / coins etc.

that is the beauty of 3d printing, imagine something, model it, print it, refine it, print again.
this is the 2nd attempt, the final design (still tinkering) will have provision for the charging cable to the head in the back.

I placed the Pad Mounting Disk on the passage side console.
Amazon Amazon

Then added a Wireless mount charger.
Amazon Amazon

The USB cable runs into the lighter section and plugs into a mini USB port.
Amazon Amazon

The lid of the lighter still closed but I had to notch a section for the cable to pass though.

I used this:
Amazon Amazon

needed some modifications. The screw hole is aligned with the passenger side console mount hole at the top. This actually hangs down from it. AND, you can still see all your gauges.

Use that center compartment just aft between the seats.

I use stick on magnet mount on the Ive removed them before with no issues and the tape didnt leave any residue. I like the stick on steel plate and the magnets havent effected the phone at all. I can easily see it for directions or song choice.
Used the same style mount when I was running my sniper for the status display

That looks like a real nice design River. We use the quad locks on Harley's and they work great. If they can hold a phone in place on a motorcycle. They should be more than sufficient inside a car.
your design of course only fits the earlier corvettes.
my 77 has a vastly different ash tray. And believe it or not. Some of us actually use the ash tray for it's intended purpose.
Still. Looks great. I'm certain a number of people on this forum would want one.

I bought this little sideways magnet mount off amazon and love it. Super secure and minimal. Phone looks like it’s meant to be there when it’s mounted and acts like a nav screen. Plus it’s out of the way for shifting.

Those are all great ideas. I need to get a phone holder, and was trying to figure out how to make use of the cigarette lighter space. I think a suction cup is the way to go.

Cool. Please take into consideration that the police may not like that mounted there and ding you with an obstruction ticket.

I went the custom 3-d design/printing route for one in my C4, but for the C3 I decided to use the below arm. I figure I will grab the front left bolt on the passenger seat and snake it up the side of the console.

I attempt to never use the cell phone while enjoying my car, it's in a pocket or the rear compartment and the bluetooth connects to the radio so if I must I can answer a call

Saw this on another place, the mount as SLVRSHRK shows above

Too bad the bottom doesn't hinge so it could be tucked down in front of the seat when not in use or something

Would you be able to share the 3D file for your phone holder?

Haven’t quite understood in most states you cannot use your hand held phone, but it’s OK to use your touchscreens. That seems a lot more distracting to me. But I am old and can remember how it is to drive with NO phone in the car. How did we survive?

I agree. Most of the time I am in the vette, I don’t want to talk to anyone. If it is important they can leave a message
