Go figure! Some people actually come on this forum asking about quiet mufflers!
I know, blaspheme!

Doesn't that get in the way of shifting?

If I really need nav, I'll bring a passenger to hold the phone for me.

My car’s an automatic so the cables don’t get in the way of shifting. And I’ve since converted my radio to blutooth.

My wireless charger routes under the console and into the cigarate lighter using a low profile USB charger. I drilled a hole in the ashtray to reach the USB port. Now I can stream and use google maps be voice commands.

The passenger seat works just fine. Turn it upside down, can’t see if anyone calls and can’t hear it as the top is down. No need having a perfect day driving your C3 interrupted by a phone call.

Wouldn't matter in Australia, you'd go under one of those cameras they have set up all over the place. The computer that monitors these cameras would see a mobile phone and your ticket would be in the mail.
over a thousand bucks in Queensland and 3 demerit points.

Not really a phone guy while driving but from looking at these idea I think the hot ticket would be to take a "deactivated" cigarette lighter plug-in contraption and modify it to serve as a phone holder. You wouldn't be able to charge (unless you get fancy so it can do both support and charge) but since the cigarette lighter is essentially horizontal, and cell phones are relatively light, then it should be able to hold it while facing up.
Hell --- somebody might make one but I have not looked.
