The wheels (rims) are 17" x 8". The tire size is 255 / 50 / 17. And they are all pretty much inside the wheel openings.

I honestly can't answer your question regarding tire noise as I never really listened. Nor do I particularly care about tire noise in my Corvette. DD is a different story.
