Reason: spelling
Classic Auto Air has reasonably priced complete conversion kits for your Corvette. It will convert your system to R-134a refrigerant which is much more available and much less expensive than R-12. You will need to have your VIR recalibrated for 134a OR replace it with a HI/LO system pressure safety switch tube (which I highly recommend). The Sanden A/C compressor is much smaller and lighter and MUCH more efficient than the old GM unit. If you need to replace the compressor and you don't need the car to be completely "original", this is the way to go.
P.S. You will need to purge ALL of the old lubricating oil out of the A/C system prior to refilling with correct oil and R-134a. You can purchase 'flushing' products from your local auto parts store. It's a bit messy, but it MUST be done, as the old oil and the new stuff you put in for the Sanden are incompatible with each other.
