Hey everyone, my wife inherited her grandfather’s 1982 corvette collectors edition. It has sat for several years since his passing so I’m not real sure if it has any mechanical problems or not. The seats would need reupholstered for sure other than that the interior is in pretty good shape. My question for y’all is what would the current value be in its condition?
It's impossible to guess it's value from just one photo. Does it run? Do you want to sell it as is, or do you have the mechanical ability and the time to get it in shape. It looks straight and complete and probably a good project for someone. If you live in a state where it needs to be emissions legal, it won't be easy, if that's not an issue, it's a big plus. As is, for a wild *** guess, I would say somewhere between $5K and $10K. If you could jump in it, turn the key, and safely drive it home, you could double that.
I appreciate your input! I know, that’s the only picture I had of it at this time lol. It would more than likely be sold as is. As for emissions, I’m in Mississippi so we don’t have to worry about that
I completely understand! Of course we would definitely like to get the most out of it as possible. Sounds like it may be worth having a mechanic check it out to see if there even are any underlying problems.

This cars lack of CE decals ($$$$$), seats needing reupholstery ($$$$), and almost guaranteed brake system replacement ($) will detract from the value.
FYI
Was it stored indoors/garage/carport/etc or did it see rain/water/weather ?
Makes a BIG difference in how it will be valued.
Just from the one pic you posted its hard to judge.
If it was stored dry and you have more pics I might would be interested.

Good honest photos. Looks like a nice easy project for the right guy. If you want to sell it "as is" without spending a dime, I'd price it at $7,500. You'll find a buyer. The pathway to "running and driving" condition can snowball very quickly. So you need to consider your return on investment. Right now what ever money you receive is manna from Heaven, but if you spend 2 or 3 or even 5 thousand, only to realize the exact same amount in return, you've gained nothing. For an owner doing the needed restoration work, the investment money makes much more sense.
Cheers, Greg
Another big IF: are those the original "BRONZE" 1982 CE only T-tops ?? IF so, score -- if not.......................
Tires = OBVIOUSLY
The A/C will also definitely need replacing as the seals dry out without use and the R-12 escapes.- will need to convert to R-134 as R12 is unobtanium these days and banned.
Id put the "AS IS" price $7-8K if those tops are BRONZE, if not deduct the $1500 they cost to replace.
Those CE specific interior pieces are very expensive to replace. The paint looks bad, so given the funky color and decals, it will be very expensive. We still havent seen the hood open yet, so we dont know its it is a stock dirty cross fire or whether it runs, or if everything is missing. As well, we have no idea about frame rust.
I can see asking $7500 but when you factor paint, any project could wind up in the red. You might have to settle at $5k depending on a lot of things.
An interesting point would be whether the hatchback hinges are intact. Very rare sought after pieces.
Give it a good washdown and take pics after that,
air up the tires to see if they hold
pics with the hood open
pics of codes in back T-top corners will tell.
I paid 5 K for an 82 CE nearly 3 years ago. It was a one owner, 80k mile car that had not run in over 5 years. Original car with gymkana suspension option. New Interior parts came with the car. I got it running and sold it for 6K 6 months later opting for a 4-spd car instead.
