Default Spring Cup installation tool

Does anyone have the tool to install/flare the cups for the springs and trailing arm that they would be willing to loan out.

I hate to spend $50 to buy a tool that i'm only going to use twice.

I have an old obsolete socket with a bevel that I use.
Be happy to loan you the socket and you can put together the bolts, washers, and other socket to complete the setup.
See post 11 in link.

Or, found a similar beveled socket on ebay, $12

I used a ball peen hammer and large fender washers (these go inside the cups) to support the cups while hitting the ball peen hammer with the sledge.
The ball portion of the hammer fits the part to be flared over. I used a 2 pound sledge to hit the ball peen hammer which flares the cup.
I did have to bring the new cup to Lowes to size the correct sized hammer before I started.

I have the tool and have also done 100's with nothing more than a ball peen hammer. Different weight hammers have different ball ends, so I use a couple. To make it easier to do I have a steel rod I clamp in a vise. I put the arm over the rod and a round steel disc to sit in the cup. That holds the cup in the arm and I can peen the end over. The tool will roll over the cup stem smoother.

I’ve got a couple ball peen hammers and I’m getting the socket. So between those I should be able to do an acceptable job on the two trailing arms.
