Torq-Thrust Ds were MADE for Corvettes-literally. The "D" was for "Disc Brakes"-the curved spokes were to clear the calipers on the new 'Vettes in 1965. Probably a lot of you already knew that...
For those of you that are considering 17” X 8” Torque Thrust II with the gray spokes, it appears they are discontinued.
I ordered a set of 4 with tires mounted and balanced from Tire Rack. 1st i got a call saying it would be a week before they had the wheels in. I said no problem I’m not in a rush. A week later I got a call telling me that they could only get 3 as they are discontinued. He advised me that summit had stock and suggested i order one from them. The guy i spoke to agreed to send me 3 mounted and balanced and one loose tire. I ordered 1 wheel from Summit racing and Tire rack is comping me for the cost of getting the one wheel mounted and road force balanced.

Well that sux, but glad it worked out for you... I'll be running 15" size until they stop making 15" tires. Eventually, it'll be as hard to locate good tires for the 17" size as it is now for the 15".
I love the look of the Torq Thrust Original wheels with the straight spokes, but didn’t want to fool around with spacers. Found that Appliance (there may be others) made a similar wheel with straight spokes and cleared the calipers in 15x7 and 15x8.5. I put together six of them in 15x7 (backspace puts it in the same position outboard as a stock 15x8 wheel)… They’ll obviously need refinished, but that’s not a problem for me.
As far as 15 inch radial tires, now that Coker has gotten into the picture, they should be around for a while.
