Helping a buddy with an 82. AC original car but needs new compressor. Found a highly rated sanden style universal compressor. I’m willing to fabricate mounting brackets. Has anyone done this before? What else is needed for it to work with the rest of the stock components?

My 2 cents...
The cost of a correct AC compressor is probably cheaper than any universal set up after all the time & frustration is factored in...
Sanden compressors work very well with R-12 and R-134A, just be mindful of the oil. Also, many companies make mounts for the Sanden, try Vintage Air or Classic Auto Air. I have seen mounts for large and small block in right and left applications. Jerry

To use that compressor, you will need to do it right, the following...
Sanden compressor: 21-4536
Bracket for compressor: 40-113R
Orifice tube
Condenser: 11-31930
Binary safety switch: 24-0102
Step fitting (need to know which one you need)
Accumulator: 21-1248
AC Hose kit: 51-1034
AC Hose: 95-0449
This will allow you to retain the factory 82 AC in-console control panel. Old Air Products, very helpful, talk with Joe ext: 115
