Hello, I had an unfortunate accident with my 74 Corvette. Spoiled by anti-lock brakes and I skidded under a pickup bumper with the headlights up. I'm going to do the mechanicals on the headlights and take it to my favorite shop to clean up the SMC and do the paint. I can get a pair of nice assemblies from many of the suppliers for $1600 or so - or I can get a pair on ebay for $500 and get a rebuild kit for about $150. The ebay pieces have a fair amount of rust on the steel parts, but I think I could easily build a pair with my bead blast cabinet, some EZ outs and a tap and die set. Any pitfalls to option B that I'm missing?
thanks
Steve
Look up the 2023 Pay It Forward thread.
I just offered up a complete set of all the oem headlight parts that I removed from my 73.
I don’t know if the 73 and 74’s are the same, but the free price should help you out.

thanks - definitely interested. I'll check the shop for parts that I can list to meet the Pay it Forward requirements BTW, those are heavy, I'll pay the shipping.
