Car is cranking and not starting, so want to bypass and start car, this is just temporary,so not sure if I can or not,but I remembered I had a relay laying around, four pronge, and think I had it for a tractor or older car,can I use this,I do remember #30 pronge went to +battery,so what about the other pronge,85,86 and 87.

Yea,nothing wrong with solenoid,I have been doing some stuff to my 1981,long story short, haven’t been cranked in 10 months,I have been messing with wires, trying to delete wires from my old ccc,but have also messed with steering colum, and safety neutral switch, but, have no power going to key switch.like my buzzard, which I did have, but I can turn the starter using a screw driver underneath shorting solenoid, but have no fire,so,evendentally,I’ve disconnected something that I shouldn’t so,just want to hook straight to distributor some how,to fire it up.Sorry,if Im not making any since, but can start engine, but no fire to plugs.

Just run a hot wire to the distributor. Away it goes.

Ok,so when you say connect wire to distributor 4-vettes as I said no electrical guy,but do I need to remove cap,or unplug wires at bottom, and just connect a hot wire where the wires plugged in at. Thanks

You should just need to feed 12V into the correct spade connector on the distributor. Connect a female spade to a wire to the alternator terminal (bonus points for using an inline fuse). Check the labels on the cap. I'm assuming your distributor looks like this random image from the internet, if you defeated all of the 81 specific stuff.

Yes,it has a three pronge and in front of that two pronged.
This is an extra distributor I had,but the other one on the car is identical to this one.
So since the 3 pronge plug is attached to distributor so guessing one of the two prongs and I think the white wire is tach,so guess the other prong would be the one I need.

It says "TACH BAT" on the two spades closest to the edge. That matches the image I posted, and you already guessed what "TACH" means. 😀

Yup, that front right terminal, says Batt right on it. Put a spade terminal on a 2-3 foot chunk of wire. Connect that spade to the batt. Terminal on the distributor. Connect the other end of wire to the large post/ stud on the alternator. Jump starter with your screwdriver.
car now runs.
