Hello, I am cutting the floor pan out of my 1980 c3 if anyone has any tips that would be great. noticed if was crunchy and stabbed it a few times. Had everything out due to a fire.
likely going to keep the section that is good at the back. also to have my seats line up. front right seat supports got to go though. Will post more updated photos tonight.
It looks like youu already cut it out. Otherwise I would suggest getting some measurements from the floor to the ttops. That way when you put the new ones in you won’t make it too deep or shallow, all of which will show up when you put the carpet and seat back in.
Are you looking at new floor pans or good used? The Corvette Ben, on YouTube, who is also on the forum as @chstitans42 may have a good used set of pans.
Yeah I shouldve waited to get the pan first. The metal couldnt be saved on the inner side though which is why i cut so high. looking at the pans, image wise I should be fine. I only need 1 pan as my passenger pan is still in good shape no holes just the drain hole. so i might just buy a new one. slight rust im removing. Should i take my bumper off to make life easy? really annoying trying to work under the bumper.
Yes i am cutting high and it will likely show yes. ill try and line everything up as best i can before welding. then ill sand and ill put the protective crap u paint on and hopefully its hidden enough lol.
