Default 74 Vette interior

Here’s a dumb question - the interior trim pieces around the console, windshield and door pillars - what are they made from? They seem be very dense - like fiberglass and not plastic?

Does anyone know? I have a few cracked pieces and I’m interested to see if a replacement part would be the same

From my experience, the replacement console is not the same material as original. I've not replaced the 3 dash pieces. The dash and console seem to be a heavy fiberglass-like material but I'm not sure what it is. It's not soft and pliable like modern plastics. I do know that cracks in the factory plastic can be repaired with fiberglass materials and the screw holes with epoxies like JB Weld. My console was so cracked and missing all of the screw tabs around the shifter that I elected to replace it.

I kinda figured there was something different. I’d prefer to try to fix what I have that buy new but I guess I’ll have to see how it shakes out
