Hi; looking at a C3 potentially but I was curious as to whether it had posi-traction. What would be the best way to get the spec sheets for whatever car I'm looking at ? Wanting a c3 to be able to swing around so the posi is important to me haha
Well that completely clarified things for me haha. I had a 1975 C3 that I really really loved but for whatever reason the "posi-traction" was a heavily highlighted feature so I thought that it was an optional feature. For some reason, I really really love how much more rowdy and fun the c3 is versus my c2. I'm moving into a 1969 so I'm stoked!
In 1969 positraction was not in all cars, but almost all cars. It was an option, not standard, however, it was a required option for big blocks.
The only thing you can tall about that particular vin posted by the OP is that the car is a coupe.
If the car does not come with the original build sheet or some other original GM documentation there is no way you can know all of the options the car came with. You can guess based on what you see but many cars have had things added and removed. Some have even been outright changed to be something they are not. So, be careful.
I stand corrected, after further research there was about 3,000 non posi cars built in 1968 and 1969, not made standard until 1970. Out of the 70,000 produced for those two model years there’s about a 4.28% chance it’s not.
If you’re not positive you can always see which ways the wheels spin when when you turn one with the car is up in the air.
Same way=posi
