thanks wimpy I just thought 75 had flat window cant remember seeing one with this back window
You don't have a 75. The back ends of the car and the rooflines are totally different. If this is your car in the pic, it is not a 75. Someone messed up the paperwork somewhere if that is what it says.

Your steering wheel, seats & door panels look like a '79...

the vin on driver side matches the title so how can i find out is there a way
Bottom line, even the side mirrors are incorrect for a 75. Your car is titled wrong. And you are going to go threw hell buying parts cause most won't fit!
Also, wrong wheels for a 75, looks like a power antenna, they didn't come out till 78.
Yup, if your buying parts for a 75 your going to be plenty disappointed.
In 78 , normally the trim was 1/2 stainless and 1/2 black on the rear trim. At one point during production is was all stainless then back to 1/2 and 1/2. In 1979 the back window trim was all black as was the 78 Pace Car.
There is some 'issue' with the VIN number on that car. My recommendation: leave well enough alone! If you now have a valid title, just do what you want with the car and enjoy it while you have it. Leave the rear window as it is. You would open a real "nest of snakes" messing with that window. Whenever you sell that vehicle, expect some scrutiny from any buyer regarding the car's configyuration and the "mis-matched" title year.

The numbers on the Vin and the numbers on the title match. I looked at the sticker under the hood on the bottom of the sticker. It says, seventy nine, how can I find out why it's so screwed up anybody here?Knows
Ya know, somewhere down the line during a title transfer someone could have just made a typo when filling out forms. And the DMV never caught it.
75 ...... 79 yup, I could see it just being a typo
It's very possible. If the VIN on the car is a '79 VIN, then that is the most likely answer. The only thing that really means anything is that the body configuration, the VIN number and the frame number all match. That would pretty much assure that no real fraud was ever involved.
And, if that is the case, you might want to take that info to your local clerk's office (or other such site in your state) and request that the title be corrected, since it is apparently in error on the year of manufacture.
If there are still "discrepancies" between VIN, configuration, and frame ID, then I would revert to my previous post.
Absolutely. I bought a Harley Davidson motorcycle once in very late December. It was the next model year vehicle. But whomever did the paperwork was so used to typing the current year as the model year. I received a title that had a Vin number that clearly showed the vehicle I purchased, but in the model year section of the title, it was incorrect.
I was able to explain this issue and get the title corrected.
