It all started with the replacement of a tach cable. The next thing I know the entire dash is out as I discover more issues that need addressed. I got the dash and gauges back in and naively thought I was almost finished. Discovered more issues in the center console. The brittle plastic on the shift console broke in several pieces which means more items that need addressed. Oh well, I wanted something to keep me busy in retirement!
Yes, it never stops. Just a quick in and out on something turns into, what the heck, now I have to take this off and this out to get to this and that, but then there's this that needs work too. Come on man, stop with all this stuff I just want to get it back together quickly and go for a drive. Just the pains of Corvette ownership.
Unless you’re in it to “flip” it, I don’t think many Corvette owners expect to recoup what they’ve spent. It’s a hobby and I just get enjoyment repairing things that probably haven’t worked in years. I now have courtesy lights that work when you open the door, a functional e-brake light, wiper door that functions. Of course I don’t expect the issues to stop. It’s a 56 year old car!

Agreed, I am 74 and it keeps me busy. If it wasn’t a work in progress I would sell it and find a car that is. And it fits in my garage whereas a chevelle or gto size car would not.
