I use stainless counter sunk allen head 8-32 machine screws from Home Depot. I mark the holes and drill the plastic cover, align on the car, mark the car. Drill and insert aluminum nutserts/rivnuts and then countersink the plastic cover so the screws are flush. I left mine stainless colored as it matches what I did in the interior but you can paint them black. The screws make it very secure and the aluminum nutserts give the screws strength instead of tying to screw into the fiberglass while allowing easy removal.
