Only 50 years working on them???? I have over 60 years working on my cars...and still enjoy working on them as much as driving them. But, I get tired a LOT faster, now.
Not to highjack this thread but I picked up some good information here, so I figured I'd ask.
I have a '68 with manual steering and it feels like trying to steer a Sherman Tank. Where can I go to find the best conversion kit to power steering?
Thanks in advance.
If the steering is that tight you have a problem. With good tires, bearings, alignment, and a correctly built box, manual steering on a vette is not bad. Vette PS uses the same box, no difference or reason to change out the box, just the pitman arm.

I'm pretty sure the Sherman tank has a skid steer arrangement.
@GTR1999 rebuilt my steering box, which I used for my manual steering conversion. It is not effortless, obviously, but manageable with the wheels turning, and a joy on windy mountain roads.
If you want to to fix your current steering, follow his advice, and perhaps send your box to him to rebuild.
If you want to power steering, order a Borgeson kit today, and install when it arrives this fall. You shouldn't need the steering valve adaptor, you can use your manual drag link, but you should rebuild it for manual OR Borgeson power steering. I bet the ball joint looks like a flat football.
