Default good info thanks I just bought some 8-32 screws today

The '68 appears unique in that the forward edge of center stainless is secured by upper stainless trim. I believe factory and most restorers use sealant where molding ear inserts into center stainless piece. Hope that clear.

Quote was from Atlas Chrome Plating in Houston. I received a cheaper quote from a place in CA but its electroless.

Good info thanks I just bought some 8-32 ss screws today on a guess. Thanks.

I say yes you want to seal the joint you describe. If you look at the windshield sheet metal frame, there is a pocket under the upper corner molding that does not drain and collects water. Bad design I say, so we do what we can.
