Foam block

I'm having trouble determining how the foam block below fits inside the area behind the front splash shield covering the #3 body mount area (see pic below). Couldn't find it in the AIM but it may be there nor did I find in any catalogue references. It doesn't seem intuitive how it fits, it just fell out when I pulled the shield off. A picture or reference would be great.

Hello,

In my 71 AIM that part is called out and shown as a 'pad' (1 of 4) in the lock pillar.
AIM, UPS 1, Sheet 9, Parts 8 ,9, 10 and 11.

I believe the one in your photo is part no. 10.

This is pad + 8 or + 9 from my 71.

Same part but item 4 on the 72 AIM
