Just inherited vehicle and it’s in another state. Dont have pic at the moment. Just trying to estimate a base value because someone is interested in buying it. They offered $5k and I told them they were crazy!
How old are the tires? When was the brake system flushed? How old are the brake hoses? When was the suspension replaced? Original motor/trans? When was the carb rebuilt and by who? You got receipts? Might be worth $10,000 or $15,000... then again the buyer is crazy to even offer $5,000. Need pics and info....

$5k might very well be the value. Not enough info here for us to make accurate guesses.
any damage to fiberglass or if it’s in need of a paint job really hurts the value. C3 bodywork and paint is crazy expensive. Pretty much makes any later model c3 upside down from the get go.

Not true, maybe he knows more then we do !!! No match ? Rusted frame / Birdcage ? needs full repaint ? + minor interior cosmetic issues, could very well be $1000 - $1500 or less ( parts car ) OP is very vague !!
The last C3 market guide in Corvette-mag I saw earlier this year gave a range of $8k to $20k for an '80. That ranges from 'needs work' to 'show winner'. Their guides offer interesting insights but purely a tad high-ish purely IMHO. One can go over to their site and purchase a back issue of the July '25 issue at corvette-mag.
Sometimes I find people who know little about vintage cars have an inflated sense of value when selling one - especially after seeing say a TV car auction. And likewise, sometimes people looking to purchase thru an estate situation are looking to take advantage and get one below fair market value.

You have no clear understanding just what that car may be worth. The reference guides' values are all over the place. Lotsa fools think Barret Jackson Mecum auctions represent reality. You have no clue what it takes to $$$$ fix some vette issues.. Suggest do Not insult the folks who offered $5K. It truly may or may Not be worth even that. No one here KNOWS either; No One Has even seen it.
There's one sure gage of value. Not very predictable but: it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay.

Typical "NEW MEMBER" start a thread & never return, well for a week at least. I guess we also insulted him with the "COULD VERY WELL BE" the $5,000 or less GUESS !!
