Default Door switch help

In the doors there are two switches in my 76. one on the jam where the door hinges are and this one. Which is pushed in on both doors. What's this one for and how the heck do you get it out. I took the plate off in the fender well and can't manage to get it out the hole. Keep wiggling until it comes out????? Looked on You Tube, didn't find anything.
Thanks!!

The switches by the hinges are for the interior lights. The one in the pic is for the factory alarm.

Never really thought about it but my Door Ajar light is on so I assume that's it as well. But still don't know how to get them out to replace them.

The pin switch gets screwed into a plate that gets riveted to the body. Maybe you can grab the pin switch at the end with some needle nose pliers or a stiff wire with a hook end and get it to come out the big hole, Then if possible put rivets back in to hold the plate in place. Then you should be able to unscrew the switch out, and yes it's also for your door ajar light. Hope this helps.

Thanks. If not, I'll just take the bulb out of the dash (when I change my stereo) and not worry about it.

Do a search on the forum for DOOR AJAR switch. There are several good threads about how to replace the nut plate behind the fiberglass in the door jamb. On earlier C3’s this switch isn’t for the alarm but only for the door ajar idiot light. It’s not as hard as it looks when you read how to do it. Took me about 10 minutes to get the plate out, rivet a new one in and screw in the SX switch.
