Default Headlight Shield rubbing / Interference

72 headlights scrape the black shields when they open and close. I don't see any adjustment specifically for this condition.
Could the black shields be warped and need replaced?
Any help would be great, thanks

Hello,
The shields need to be installed so that their front face is snug up against back of the egg grate portion of the grill.
Are your's mounted that way?
There is a right and left....

The car is an untouched 72 original car. I am 99% sure they have never been off the car. I will take a look and see if they are tight up against the egg crate grills. Good catch!
