Default shroud / fan question

I've got an early 69 L71, # 1462 off the production line, that's being restored. Does anyone know what the diameter of the fan and or the opening of the shroud is suppose to be. I just put it together and the fan rubs pretty hard on the shroud. The fan is approx 17.25 inches in diameter and the shroud is the same, maybe a little bigger. Any help would be great.

The fan is factory stock so it probably is 17.5 inces. I couldn't really get a goos measurement when I said it was 17.25 inches. The shroud is after market. But I don't understand why it would be so small. The small block uses the same size fan I believe so it's not a small block shroud.

Not sure who made the shroud. I bought the car in pieces and it came with it.

Just checked and the shroud is stamped with 3956119 but the opening is only about 18 inches. I believe it's supposed to be 19 inches. The blades are uo against the shroud at the 10 oclock to the 2 oclock position.

I think I just figured it out. I think I'm only getting an 18 inch measurement because I can't really get to the center of the shroud because of the fan. I think it is 19 inches. And I think I just need to adjust the shroud. It looks like it can be raised up which I think will solve the issue.

Are you using the Assembly Instruction Manual, AIM, to reassemble this car?

In the radiator section did you see shims being used to raise the complete radiator and shroud assembly?

Just for a reference, I have a 1969 L-46. My fan shroud is a Corvette Central reproduction PN 243055 with embossed PN 3956109. My car is a factory AC car with the tall Harrison radiator and the fan shroud measures 18 1/2" across.

Problem is 69 big block doesn't use either one of those. He has to use the shim kit to correct his problem.

Hello sir,
Just a quick question. Are you sure the shim kit you sent the link to is for the bottom bolts to raise the core. It looks to me like it's for the side mounts. Just want to verify before I buy it.
Thanks
