These slots are from the 70s and somewhat hard to find... I looked for months and drove to SoCal to get them... they were not pretty when I got them, these are 15x8.5" with a 3.5" backspace which is why they are so deep.

US mag makes them again but only in a 8" for a C3 (5 on 4.75) application with 4" backspace and just dont look the same.
keep an eye out on marketplace or ebay

I should add many of the vintage slots dont clear the calipers and need spacers, extended lug studs or extended lug nuts, I got lucky to find some that do clear.

I had a set of slots on my 69 years ago. Not sure if they were 8" or 8.5" wide, but they did clear the calipers with room to spare. Made by Appliance. Just posting this in case anyone is looking for used wheels to let you know the Appliance wheels will fit.

I keep coming back to these wheels, in this size, for my white car.
The Summit website claims they won't fit, have you had to move the parking brake cable bracket?

I love Summit but in this case they are 100% incorrect,
be sure that part number also shows 15x8.5 with 3.77 backspace and 5 on 4.75... they should and there is no fitment issues, ive had them on a 69, 80 and now the 70, my buddy also has them on his 76... plenty of clearance, just installed them yesterday and have about 1/2"-3/4" to the cable bracket, the 69 and 80 I had 255/60s with no issues, this 70 I have 245/60s as thats what I had on the slots and didnt want to buy tires again.

I originally found this part number years ago because "wheels for less" was selling this wheel package for the C3 Corvette.

The wheels will fit without issue, cant guarantee you will be able to use 255/60s without a little rub up front on front wheel well lip and a little shaving needed... might need a 245/60s but again had 255/60s on two cars with no rub at all.

I am still a little tossed... again if the slots were mint they would still be on the car.
I couldn't find perfect slots in 15x8.5... all had some issues.
sure is nice now having new wheels on the car.

these were pretty rough when I got them... took lots of time just to get them cleaned up and looking decent, this was just after one clean and polish... did it a few more times after that but couldn't remove all the flaws.

Thanks, after my earlier post I checked the American Racing website, it shows they fit.
I do have 255/60's and will reuse them (unless I go staggered, I'm still back and forth on that), they clear now on the factory rally's.

Late but that is normal...

I like the Torque Thrust wheels on your Corvette. If it were mine I would even consider making the spokes in the Torque thrust painted to match the body color, (just trying to be different..)

The Torque Thrust wheels are a natural for a beautiful Corvette! They also seem to age well where the slots require a regular polishing/waxing to keep them
shiny like they were when new.

There have been some deals on the slotted wheels used in the late 1970's on Corvettes but many would require a professional cleaning to restore them to their beauty and shine.

Best regards,
Chris

thanks Chris... I will always be on the hunt for a perfect set of original 15x8.5 slots, there was a set of NOS still in original boxes on ebay a few years ago but crazy price.

Ok here is the closest it gets to the front wheel well while turning the front wheels with 245/60s, the slots had 3/8" less backspace with the same wheel width so even closer but never rubbed.
as said I've had 255s on two cars with no issues.

Keep in mind I lowered the car a touch

I agree. Love the TT wheels, but with your color combo I believe the slots look better.

Yep, after driving the car around the past few days... walking up on it I've decided the Torq Thrusts are staying and happy with my purchase.

Sitting in the garage with a cocktail last night and convinced more than ever.

I bought a set of slots for my car, and had to do the same kind of work to get them to shine like yours…..so I can appreciate the many hours of labour you put into those wheels. Hopefully you will give them some time “on the car” and not just keep them stacked in the corner of the garage.
