Make one rotation of the driveline yoke and count how many revolutions the side yokes make. Or you can check the stamping on the bottom of the differential and look it up.

It's best to count the turns because lots of gears have been changed.

If you have the cover off and they are GM gears, look for the code: usually in a 11:37 (example) format. 37 divided by 11 = 3.36 in this example. That's the best way to tell.

I agree..If you have the unit removed,forget turning and counting.Take the rear cover off and find either the ratio stampings on the ring gear or even the GM part number and you will know GUARANTEED. I can look up the part number on the ring gear to tell u if you need help.
