I have obtained a set of BBC heads to asess for purchase. They were given to me represented as '990' LS7 original GM castings. Actual casting # is 6372990.
I checked Mortec and found them listed as "service replacement 118cc, open chamber, 1970 up, 454".
These are dis-assembled, unground, with minor cracks between the valves (2 on each head) that will require seats. Delivered with new (unused) 'Manley' stainless valves, new 140 lb. springs, new retainers and keepers.
What do I have here? I'll list price after I get some feedback
I'm considering them for my 427 with Stahl headers, an appropriate cam and my rec port 3x2 setup... Thoughts?
GDaina, I have the equipment to replace the seats (and do the valve job), and I would do both heads complete. I bought them today for $600.00. Thanks for the help guys. This is what I love about the forum
Yea, right in the middle between the valves down about 1/16 of an inch. I magnaflux'ed 'em checking for cracks and pointed it out to the owner/seller. That's when they became available.
